The Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale is a widely used,
comprehensive assessment tool which measures both the quality of environmental provisions and interactions within a setting (ECERS-3, Harms, Clifford and Cryer).
The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS) is internationally recognised and offers a structured approach to quality improvement and self-evaluation. The ECERS-3 is designed for early years settings working with children from 3 years through to 5 years of age.
It was developed with assistance and feedback from hundreds of researchers and practitioners around the world.
This two day ECERS course covers the following aspects:
Principles that underpin the Early Childhood Environmental Ratings Scales
How to use the toolkit and scoring system
Physical Environment – space and furnishings
Language and Literacy
An opportunity to visit an outstanding Early Years Provision
This face to face training will take place at:
Peter Pan Training School
Cost: £50 per person for Bedford Borough EYs settings (including copy of ECERS-3)
£100 for all others
